Getting Started
Learn what AntiRaid is and how to set it up in your Discord server.
Configuration required
Adding AntiRaid to your server doesn't enable any protection on its own. You need to configure it first — this guide walks you through the basics.
What is AntiRaid?
AntiRaid is a Discord security bot built around customisable templates rather than a one-size-fits-all ruleset. Instead of applying the same protection to every server, you define exactly how AntiRaid should react to threats — through Luau scripts, per-server settings, and moderation tools your team controls.
Out of the box, AntiRaid helps you:
- Stop raids — lock down channels and roles the moment an attack starts
- Moderate members — ban, kick, and manage users with a full audit trail
- Back up your server — snapshot your roles, channels, and settings so you can restore quickly after an incident
- Block harmful links — stop phishing URLs and spam domains from being posted
- Automate responses — write Luau scripts that react to events exactly the way you need them to
Quick setup
Invite AntiRaid Add AntiRaid to your server from
antiraid.xyz/invite. Grant the permissions it requests — they are all required for moderation and backup features to work.
Assign permissions to your staff Visit the [AntiRaid
dashboard](https://antiraid.xyz) and assign permission nodes to your moderator roles. Without this step, none of your staff will be able to use protected commands. See Permissions for the full list.
Set up your first protection Start with something simple. Enable [URL
blocking](/docs/user/commands/urlblock) to filter malicious links, or configure a lockdown so your mods can freeze the server during a raid.
Take a backup Run /backups create to snapshot your server before
making any major changes. See Backups for exactly what is and isn't included.
