Captcha

Stop self-bots and automated accounts from joining your server using AntiRaid's captcha verification.

Updated April 11, 2026

AntiRaid's captcha system adds a human verification step to your server's join flow. When enabled, new members must complete a challenge before they can access your channels. This filters out self-bots and automated accounts that can't solve captchas, while remaining quick and simple for real users.

Coming soon

Full captcha configuration documentation is being written. The feature is live — detailed setup instructions will be here shortly.

How it works

  1. A new member joins your server and lands in a restricted holding area.
  2. AntiRaid sends them a captcha challenge (image-based or interaction-based).
  3. If they solve it correctly, they are granted your configured member role and can access the rest of the server.
  4. If they fail or ignore it, they remain locked out and can be automatically kicked after a configurable timeout.

Why use captcha?

Raids often use self-bots — automated accounts that mass-join servers to cause disruption. Because self-bots can't solve visual captchas, they get stopped at the door before they can do any damage.

Captcha works well alongside Lockdown (which stops an active raid) and URL Blocking (which stops malicious links). Together, these form a layered defence for your server.

What you'll need

  • A dedicated "unverified" role with access only to the verification channel
  • A "member" role that grants access to the rest of the server
  • AntiRaid to have permission to manage roles and send messages in the verification channel
